The writers and I met at Krakatoa Cafe in Golden Hill and moved toward today’s goal of 13,360 words. Miles and Jacob are each keeping a firm hold on their goal and are now trying to outdo one another by not only meeting, but surpassing, the day’s word count. Miles edged him out this morning... Must be that breakfast of champions (no, not Vonnegut’s) he had.
I stopped by Lychelle’s Thursday/Friday base at Organic Elements. She is learning that a lot of labor goes into creating the beautiful arrangements we see at weddings and other special events. Here she is demonstrating how to make a single flower look fuller and more beautiful using a technique called “reflexing.” Can you imagine doing this for every single flower?! Lucky me, I was gifted a few extra “Free Spirits” in my way out.
Derric is holding it down at Tree Hill Media in Escondido. He told me a little bit about what he is learning about “quality control” from his mentor Jeff and the book that Jeff is having him read.

Davis performed at The Comedy Palace in Clairemont! He took the stage (the same one graced by his mentor, funny lady Maria Herman, and Drew Lynch of America’s Got Talent, and others) and made ’em laugh. My cheeks hurt by the end of this show! This showcase happens every Thursday. Ask Davis for tickets!
Also worth mentioning... It may not be part of his externship, but Grant pitched his last game as a member of High Tech High’s baseball team. Next time you see him, he’ll be wearing more red and black at CSU Chico.
