Today I visited Border Angels where Miguel and Karen are interning and they explained how the fires affect migrant workers. Here is a video of the founder of Border Angels being interviewed by a local news station about how they are helping. Karen and Miguel are hoping to get some kind of a food or clothing drive going here at school to help support Border Angels as well. They have gone out to the desert several times with Border Angles -- Miguel was pretty shocked when he came across a bullet shell and really made real the fact that many people are risking their lives in the hopes of having a better life.
I was also able to visit Jesus and Jonathon Martinez at their Crossfit gym. I was impressed with how much their mentors were teaching them, not just about exercise physiology, but about running a small business and the sacrifices that are needed sometimes to get things going.
Keep the blog posts coming -- I really enjoy hearing about what you all are doing!
