Information for Mentors
Thank you for your interest in working with our students! As they prepare to graduate, they will dedicate their final weeks of school to exploring a career interest. Many students hope to explore fields related to their declared (or intended) major.
Each student is required to find a mentor from the community who is a professional in the student's field of interest. We aim to support students in connecting them with adults who can offer an immersive experience in their field of interest.
As a mentor to one of our 12th-graders, you will be asked to:
- share your educational and professional journey with your mentee
- provide opportunities for your mentee to understand the complexities of your job
- share your daily routines with your mentee and ensure your mentee is actively engaged during the work day
- oversee and advise your mentee as s/he works at your site (for at least 30 hours/week, though days/times are at your discretion)
